Kia ora te whānau Kapa haka!
Ngā mihi o te tau hau! Happy New Year and I hope your first term has gone well so far.
We are back into the swing of things and I think, despite our late start this term, we have had record numbers of tamariki and teachers coming along to give kapa haka a go which is awesome!
Kapa haka is on Fridays at 11am and the Juniors stay till approx 11:20 am and the Year 3 - 6 tamariki stay on until approx 12:10 pm.
Te Pae Tamariki (the primary schools festival) is on towards the end of Term 2 this year and is open to any Year 3 to 6 tamariki who consistently attend practises and can attend the extra two Sunday workshops for preparation. A notice is going home this week for those tamariki who indicated they are interested.
During Term 2 the 11:20am onward practise time will be only for those coming to TPT.
The waiata at the top of this blog have been updated to show our set but I have kept Ko Rangitane Tenei as it is our pōwhiri waiata. Please make use of the videos and lyrics to practise at home regularly.
Ngā mihi nui
Miss Sturgess
