EXPLANATION
- The Legend of Rona.
There
once lived a maiden by the name of RONA. One night Rona went down to the
river to fetch some water for a thirsty child. As Rona made her way down the
pathway the moon disappeared behind a cloud, it became dark and Rona tripped
and fell. Rona did a wicked thing and cursed at the moon.
The
moon suddenly came down and swept Rona up. She tried to hold onto a nearby
Ngaio tree but alas she was taken up to the moon forever. If you look at full
moon maybe you will see Rona still clinging onto her calabash and the Ngaio
tree! The lesson we can take from this is to never curse our Gods.
